The Egyptian Government has officially announced that while not wishing to hamper Lord Carnavon in any arrangement Re may make with private individuals, it must insist upon strict impartiality in giving information concerning the contents of Tutenkhamun's tomb to all journalists at Thebes. Lord Carnavon contemplated permitting only one journalist to accompany his party.
