The official assignee, Mr. W. SI Fisher, presided, and Mr. Singer appeared for the bankrupt. '/...'■■' .-. ' The schedule showed that, while bankrupt owed £1371 10s to unsecured crditors, there were no assets. ' ,■-;' Bankrupt said he had formerly been in business at Auckland as a carpenter and contractor, but was not doing anything at present. His capital ''■ was small, and in addition to carpentry -work, he dealt in poultry and dogs. His books and papers had been burned about four months ago by his daughter, and he could thus give no details regarding hisjjtinancinl affairs. He never had a banking' account. His present position was due to the fact of depreciation of property, and instead of receiving £1300 as. the result of a land deal he received only £91. Other causes were heavy losses in connection i; with poultry and dog. :'■/■ *; ■..';. The following resolution was carried unanimously:—"That the facts of the case be submitted to the Crown solicitor with a view to a prosecution."'
