Official circles „in Italy maintain that, following Britain's practical withdrawal from Europe, the Continental Powers must review tho situation from a different p"oirit of view; hence there is the possibility of the formation ~*f a Continental bloc, comprising France, Italy, and Belgium, Germany's participation in which would bo subordinated to payment of a given sum within a fixed period. The Tribune, says that Signor Mussolini is feverishly working to securo French and Belgian adhesion to this plan, which is based on Germany's willingness to carry out her fundamental engagements. The Corriore d'ltalia states that Italy has decided to abstain from all participation in France's military operations, but will protect Italy's economic interests.
