THE CALCUTTA SWEEP.

SCHEME TO LIMIT MEMBERS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Associativa. (Reed. 2.20 p.m.) DELHI, Jan. 10. The Royal Calcutta Turf Club has made a new arrangement in connection with its Derby sweep. The plan adopted, it is claimed, will restrict participation in the sweep largely to members of the club. No tickets will be used, and club members wishing to take part will be allotted numbers. Therefore, non-mem-bers who secure participation through members will not receive any tangible proof of their share. It is claimed that the new method will tend to eliminate the widespread salo of tickets, which made the sweep one of the greatest in the world.
