DR. OLIVER'S MISSION.
SOLVING WORLD PROBLEMS.
An address on "Solving World Problems" was given by Dr. , French E. Oliver, the American evangelist, in the Town ' Hall last evening. The speaker referred to the story of the rich man who built : granaries and increased his possessions, and said to his soul : - that how he would eat, drink, and be merry; Just as fish i could not live except in water, and birds were dependent upon the air, bo man moved and had his Deing in God. Men were hungering .Jailer wealth and fame in the endeavour . to satisfy the : soul, , but .they could ;, : find satisfaction ■ only through faith in , God. Covetousness was at the root of the' great problems of the world, labour and i financial, and they would, be solved-if men gave heed to,the doctrines of God. Dr.;.] Oliver spoke of the influence: of . a Chris- j tian woman in maintaining the ; sanctity of the-home, but God help the nation if ever the womanhood became like* the painted, bob-haired, : cigarette-smoking type. .-■' ■_/; ■.:'; ; .:-r ■■ ■:.;:■ . ;■'.-,: ••■.'
