MOTORING FATALITY.
CAR FALLS INTO RIVER. DRIVER'S DEATH BY DROWNING. [BY TELEGRAPH. —J'BESS ASSOCIATION.] TAIHAPE. Tuesday. Mr. Maurice Morgan, a resident of Napier, was killed in a motor-car accident botween Taihape and Moawhango on Christmas afternoon. Tha car went over a steep bank and fell into the river. Morgan was pinned under the car and .was drowned, r ivo other persons were in the car, which was driven by Mr. H. E. Davis, manager of the Taihape Freezing Works, including Mrs. Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan, Mrs. Minn, and a small boy. Mr Davis was thrown on to the banK of the river. Mrs. Minr; was badly injured. and is now in hospital. The others were not seriously injured. Mr.- Morgan's body has not yet been recovered. Tho car is a complete "wreck.
