POLICE COURT NEWS.
TWO CASES REMANDED. A charge of having obtained a camera, valued at £2 17s 6d. by falsely representing that she was an authorised purchaser for Mrs Ji Prosser, of Mangonui, was preferred against Lyli3 Wright, aged 19, in the Police Court yesterday before Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M. Accused was remanded till to-morrow. Chief-Detective Mcllveney stated that other charges of a similar I naturs were to be brought acainst tho girl. On a charge of having stolen a horse, I saddle, and bridle, valued at £29, the I property of Thomas Brain, of Onehunga, i Norman Selwyn Connelly, aged 31. was remanded for a week. Other charges wer« stated to be pending. MOTORIST'S CASE DISMISSED. A charge against a motorist, Robert Percival Hunt (Mr. Holmden), of having passed a stationary tramcar in Upper Queen Street was dismissed. Tha police evidence was to the effect that the motor passed the stationary tram at 15 miles an hour, but the defendant maintained i that he stopped his car and did not move ' fenvard till the tram had started to move. ■
