The English cricket team commenced a match hero to-day in fine weather and on a fast wicket against the minor associations. Titchmarsh, Tyldesley and Freeman stood out from the visiting team. The home side batted first, but made a mediocre showing against the accurate ;ength bowling, and were all out for 129. Lambert was the only batsman to score with confidence.
