SOLDIERS SETTLERS.
APPLICATIONS TO BOARD. The Auckland Land Board met yesterSay, Mr. H. M. Skeet presiding. There were also present Messrs. E. '?. Andrews, J. P. Bailey, and R. Boddy. Thirty applications were received from returned Boldiors asking for advances lor stock and improvements on their holdings. Of these 22 were recommwed for the approval of the Minister Tor Lands, five were recommended for his subiect to satisfactory investigation by the commissioner, one adjourned, and two were refused. There was a fair amount of other business of a routine nature. ; ~„
