ADVERTISING' CANTERBURY
PROGRESS LEAGUE'S WORK.
SUCCESS OF ENTERPRISE. [bt telegraph.—own correspondent.]
CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday.
Success has so far attended the campaign of publicity instituted a few weeks ago by the Canterbury Progress LeagueNot one per cent, of the business firms approached have declined to contribute to the fund.
Large advertisements have been inserted in the leading metropolitan newspapers setting forth the special attractions of the province, and all the available accommodation has been organised. The information collected by the league has been largely sought after and it is probable that Canterbury will experience a record influx of visitors during the holidays. A wider scheme of publicity is being undertaken by the Progress League, and well prepared and illustrated booklets are to be distributed in New Zealand and abroad. Two of these booklets are entitled, " A Holiday in Canterbury, NewZealand," and " In Canterbury With Rod and Gun."
