THE MONTH FOR MARRIAGE.

January is not, a luckv month for marriage (says a writer on wedding superstitions), and if you want your marriage to be long and happy, don't" wed in January. Ii you marry in February, vou'll ba perfectly safe, especially if the"man is fair. The March bride will travel far and make her home across the water. If April is your marriage month, you will have many ups and, downs. May is not supposed to be a hicky month—a superstition which arises from the fact that in ancient times Mav was the Goddess of Sterility. The least discomfort threatened' to a" May bride is that strangers will sit around her board'. The month of roses offers nolhing bnt happiness, although you will go over land* and sea for it.

Those -who in July do -wed. Must labour always for their bread.

August offers a mate who will ba true as lover and friend. Marry in September, and your path will be a sunny one. October will give love in abundance, btrf no riches.

November is almost the best month of all, but the December bride is promised that true love will last and happiness only increase with the years. Lent is a time of fasting and not conducive to happiness. And in the olden days the Church forbade marriage between Advent and Hilary, from the hepinning of Lent till eight days aft*r Piaster, and also between Rogation and Trinitv.

Next in importance to the month comes the day of the week, and the old couplet puts that very neatly: —

Monday for wealth. , Tuesday frr health. Wednesday the best day of all; Thm-isday for losses. Friday for crosses. And Saturday no Inch at all.

Though nothing is said about Sunday, it is not considered a particularly lucky day for a wedding.
