| The tone of tho Aucklami sharemarket was again good yesterday, there being general inquiry for investment otocks. In Government securities ther© were buyers for Soldiers' Loan Bonds and Inscribed Stock at £99 10s, sellers in each instance quoting £100 ss. New Zealand Inscribed Stock, 1938 and 1939, had buyers at £96 7s 6d, no rollers quoting. In banks thero was inquiry for New Zealands at 545, sellers 565. Nationals wanted at £6 10s were quoted at £6 lis. Offers of £13 15s for P. and 0. Banking Corporation failed to elicit a response from sellers. Business was done in Union of Australia atl £13 10s ? lato buyers offering £13 Bs, sellers, £13 15s. In insurances New Zealands inquired for at 28s 3d were quoted! at 28s 6d. South British had buyers at 35s 9d, no sellers quoting. In shipping P. and 0. deferred stock quoted at £330 wero inquired for at £315. In woollens there was a salo of Kaiapois (10s paid) at 12s. In miscellaneous lines business was done in Hill and Plummers at 20s 9(1, and in Wilsons Cement at 21s 10d. In mining Moanataiaris sold at 3s 2d, other buyers offering 3s Id. sellers 3s 4d. There were sales of Waihis at 345, lato buyers offering 33s 9d, sellers 34s 3d. Waihi Grand Junctions inquired for at 10a 3d wero quoted at 10s 6d.
