At Lexington, Kentucky, a dozen Federal prohibition officers were killed by the so-called " Moonshine Monarch " gang of Kentucky, but. the gang lost one of their number in a battle which followed in a mountain fastness. Eleven or twelve officers seeking vengeance then surrounded tho Moonshine gang in a forest dug-out and opened fire. They killed the leader and one of his brothers surrendered. Another brother escaped, together with four Moonshiners.
