STOCKS AND SHARES.
Tha tone of the Auckland sharemarket was again good yesterday. The majority of Government stocks were freely inquired for, but sellers in many instances refrained from quoting. In banking stocks a fair amount of business was transacted. There was a sale of Nationals at £6 103,late buyers offering £6 9s, sellers £6 10s 6d. Business was done in New South Wales at £35 7s 6d, other buyers offering £35 ss, sellers £35 10s. There were transactions in Now Zealands at the morning call at 69s 3d and 59s 9d, and at the noon call at 595. sellers quoted 595, no buyers offering. P. and 0. Banking Corporation had buyers at £13 15s, no sellera quoting. In insuirances New Zealands inquired for at 28s 3d had sellers at 28s 9d. South British changed hands at 35s 9d, other buyers offering 35s 6d without response from sel lers. In coals there were sales of Taupiris at 18s, late buyers offering 17s 9d, sellers 18s 4d. In shipping P. and O. deferred stock wanted at £320 were quoted at £335. In miscellaneous lines business was done in Auckland Tramways at 21s, other buyers offering the same figure, sellers 21s 6d. Milne and Choyco debenture stock sold at 245, other buyer*; offering 23s 9d, seller 245. Business was done in Wilsons Cement at 21s 9d, late: buyers offering the same figure, isellera 225. In mining there were sales of Moanataiaris at prices ranging from 2s lOd to 3s 3d, late buyers offering 3s 2d, sellers 3s 4d. Business wag done in Waihis at 33s 3d, and in Waihi Grand Junctions at 10s 3d, with further buyers in each case at the same figJircs.
