The M.C.C. team in its first innings against Benoni made 284: Russell 26, Woollev 14, Carr 3, Mead 0, Sandham 128, Brown 42, Fender 9, Stevens 0, Mann 40, Macaulay 0, Gilligan 8 (not out); extras, 14. Pickerell took four wickets for 49 runs, Yates two for 36.

Benoni in the first innings made 196 : Stoll 42, Sibley 76. Mncaulay took five wickets for 40 runs, Stevens two for 41, Fender two for 41. Benoni in the second innings lost four wickets for 46 runs (Bentley 22). Macaulay took two wickets for 17 runs and Stevens two for 2
