CONFERENCE IN WASHINGTON.

The Secretary of State, Mr. C. E. Hughes, addressing the conference of Central American States convened by the United States to discuss reduction of armaments, declared, that the United States had no ambitions to gratify at the expense of other nations. The interests of tho United States were peace in the Western Hemisphere and the conservation of tho interests of Central Americans. _________
