Commissioner Hoggard, of the Salvation Army, left Christchurch yesterday for the West Coast, accompanied by Mirs. Hoggard
Mr. A. A. Ross was last evening appointed to represent the provincial! executive of the Farmers' Union on the committee of the Employers' Association.
Dr. Eva Day, a house surgeon at the Dunedin Hospital, is resigning her position as from December 12. A recommendation will come before the next meeting of tne board that her place be taken by Dr. Muriel Bell.
Mr. R. McLaren, lately acting-director of the Auckland Technical College, who is resigning from tlfc staff to take lip a new position, was accorded a of thanks by the board of managers yesterday in recognition of his 10 years' service at the college.
