The Minister for Justice introduced the Companies Amendment Bill, which was read a first time. The Joint Committee reported that it was of the opinion that the St. John's College Trust Bill was a private Bill. The Government Railways Amendment. Bill was read ft second time, and referred to the. Railway Committee. There was some discussion on the motion 10 commit the Magistrate's Court Amendment Bill and the Feuoing Amendment Bill (No, 2), the discussion on the latter Bill being continued after the-dinner Hdjournment. Both Bills were then tak*n :m Committee, and were subsequently passed. The Harbours Amendment Bill -was passed. The Crimes. Amendment Bill was "read a second time, and- the House rose at 11.58 p.m. In the Legislative Council the Bay of Islands Harhour Amendment Bill was reported without amendment. The Land and Incomo Tax Amendment Bill was vassed. "A long discussion arose on the Whangarei Borough Leasing Empowering Bill before progress w.ia reported, after the first clause had been adopted m Committee. *. .'■.. __.
