STOCKS AND SHARES.
The firm tone of the Auckland share' market wa» maintained yesterday. In Government s.tocksWar Loans, 1938, again changed hands at £97 ss, with lato buyers at £97, sellers £97 10s. War Loans "and Inscribed Stock, 1927, were in demand at £96, toot no holders quoted. Soldiers' Loans (bonds) eased 2s 6d to £99 12s 6d, buyers £99 7s 6d. Inscribed Stock in the same loan also hhd- inquiry at £99 7st 6d, holders asking £99 10s. Inscribed Stocky 1938, was in firmer demand at £97 ss, sellerai £97 15s. In local bodies, debentures Mount Edens changed hands at £105 10s, or 30s better than the buying offer of tha previous day. Late sellers were quoting at £107, with buyers back t? £104. In banks Australasias had buyers at £12 16s. but there were no sellers. New South. Wales sold at £35 2s 6d, buyers closing at £34 17s 6d, sellers £35'Ss. Unions of Australia had buyers at £13 4s, sellers £13 7s. In insurances New Zea. lands were sought at 275, seilers 28s. South British had buyers at 365. sellers 36s 9& Iu gas Aucklands (paid up) sold at 23s 6d. In miscellaneous lines New Zealand Refrigerating (con.) were dona at 15s 9d*. In mining Waihis changed hands at 30s and 30s 3d, sellers firming to 30s 6d"at closing, with buyers offering 30s. Grand Junctions at 9s were wanted at 8a lOd.
