STOCKS AND SHARES.
The tone of the Auckland, eharemarket yesterday, when -business Was resumed af ley the Dominion Day holiday, was fairly firm, but there were few transactions. In Government stocks, War Loans, 1930, had demand at £96 10s, no holders quoting. For 1938 issue £96 5s was offered, sellers firm at £97 6s. The game selling rate was quoted for 1939 loans, with buyers at £96. Soldiers' Loan (bonds) had inquiry at £99, holders asking £99 10s. Inscribed stock in this loan had buyers At £98 178 6d, sellers firm at £99 10s. NeW Zealand stock, 1958,- had sellers at £96 15s, buyers £96. In banks Australasias were sought at £13 2s 6d, no sellers responding. Nationals at £6 Is 6d, had' buyers at £5 17s 6d.' Eor New South Wales £34 10s, was offered, but sellers were holding for £35 10s. New Zealands at 55s 3d, had demand at 54s 3d. Union of Australia had buyers at £13, sellers £13 ss. In insurances, buyers of Nationals quoted at 66s 6d, sellers 68s. New Zealands had inquiry at 27s 9d, sellers 28s 3d. South British were offered at 365, buyers 34s 6d. Coals, gas, shipping, and timber shares had grod demand at about recent rates. In miscellaneous lines, Wilsons Cements sold at 19s 9d, with late sellers at 20s, buyers still offering 19s 9d. Tn mining Moanataiaris were done at 3s 9d, more beine offered at the same figure, buyers 3s Bd. 'Muir's Gold Reefs were looked for at 28» 3d, sellers quoting at 30s 6d.
