N.S.W. CENSURE MOTION. NOT ACCENTED AS A CHALLENGE. A. and NZ. SYDNEY. Sept 21. In the Legislative Assembly, Mr. J. Dooley, Leader of the Labour Party, moved a vote of censure on the Government in view of the proposed amendment to the Arbitration Act excluding public servants from the Court's jurisdiction. < The Premier, Sir George Fuller, refused to accept the motion as a challenge, and said it must) take its place with private members' business. COCKATOO ISLAND YARDS. PRIVATE PURCHASE NEGOTIATIONS SYDNEY. Sept. 21. A conference of iron trade union officials was notified by a private syndicate that it is negotiating with the Commonwealth Government to take over Cockatoo Island as general engineering workshops. The conference passed a resolution deprecating handing over a national enterprise to a private concern, but assuring the latter of co-operation by the unions in the event of negotiations succeeding, provided the new company conforms to the conditions previously existing in shops on the waterfront. WHEAT AREA INCREASED. > SYDNEY. Sept. 21. Tho total wheat area sown this season is 3,868,000 acres over last year. Growers expect to cut 604,000 acres of hay. ■. ''' . ■'" '■
