EMBEZZLEMENT CASE.
EDUCATION BOARD'S FUNDS. SUM OF £272 INVOLVED. [BY TXUCG&APH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Thursday. Another case of embezzlement of the funds of the Education Department'has , been before the (Jourt. James Charles McGill Nutt, arrested in Sydney, was charged with stealing various sums - amounting to £272 last year. He was a clerk in the accounts- section of the special schools branch. It was his duty to attend to all banking accounts, and be had to withdraw or pay in money, as the case might be. Accused told the police that temptation had come on him when he was bard pressed to provide a borne for bis wife and family, and it was more than he could withstand. He pleaded guilty, and was committed for sentence.
