WAIKATO WEATHER.
FROST FOLLOWS RAIN. PASTURES LOOKING WELL. [«T TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDEH*.] HAMILTON. Saturday. The -weather in the Waikato during thft past week has been of a varied character. On Monday there waa J; severe thunder, storm, accompanied by heavy rain, and as it waa very warm, farmers were delighted with the prospect. The following day rain continued, but there was a cold snap in the air, and a heavy frost the next morning. Slight rain fell again on Thursday and the presence of snow at Maungatautari and Mamakn on Friday was verv noticeably felt in the Waikato. The week concluded with fine, but very cold weather. Notwithstanding the unset tied weather, the country is looking very well just now, and on the majority of farms there is a good growth of grass. Pastures arc certain to have received a check by the cold snap, but a few warm dnys will counteract this, and provided there are no more frosts, the end of the month should see grass in abundance.
