THEFT OF CLOTHING. YOUNG WOMAN IMPRISONED. Tho theft of a quantity of clothing valued at £5 17s was admitted by Alma Harriet Quintal, aged 21, who came before Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., in'the Police Court on Saturday. The facts were that accused had been employed as a domestic at a house at Heme Bay, and during the temporary absence of her employer she left without notice, taking a quantity of clothing belonging to the occupier of the house. When arrested she was in a situation at Mount Eden. Commenting on accused's bad record, ihe magistrate imposed a sentence of three months' imprisonment. John Shine, aged 42. who made his fourth appearance for drunkenness within six months, was fined £5, in default one month's imprisonment.
