SUNNE MEETS THOMPSON. BOUT ENDS IN A DRAW. The wrestling match between M. A. Sunni. of Dargaviile, and " Nugget" Thompson, of Auckland, took place in the- Town H»ll con-o-rt chamber last (svenins'- There W* ' large attendance, the hall being crowdedTne first half of the programme was taken up with a number of interesting amateur bouts, in which this final of the feather' weight between Facoory and Sudgro've was a keen contest, victory going to Facoorj after an even match. The principal match between Sunni and Thompson commenced at 10 p.m., and after the bout had gone a full hour, the conteat was suddenly iitopped by the caretaker announcing that time was «p for the hall to close. After some discussion between the contestants, who desired to go on, the lights were turned out, and the. referee, Mr. SThompson, declared the match a draw. Both men were evenly matched, and a draw wm an equitable decision. Sunni and Thompson will meet again to decide the match. The following are tho results of the amateur bouts:—
Bantams.—A. Cooper beat J. Mills. Feather-weight.—B. Facoory beat F. Gregory; W. Sudgrove beat J. Boyle. Final: Facoory (9st) beat Sndg.rovo (8.7) Light-weights.—J. Sudgrove beat T. Lenihan. Final: H. Maddiford (9.10) beat F. Franklin (10.0). Middle-weights.—T. Bidmeade beat Lohkamp. Final: Wilson (IL4) beat Bidmead* (10.3).
