DESTRUCTION OF BRIDGE. ACCUSED TO REBUILD IT.

[BY TELEGRAIH OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON, Thursday. To make the punishment fit the crime Mr. Justice Stringer, in the Supreme Court to-day, ordered Henry Ludwig Hesebeck, who, yesterday, was found guilty of mischief by blowing up a bridge belonging to Mr. Hunter at Kaitieke, to rebuild the bridge or come up for sentenca at the next sessions. When the case was called Mr. Macdiarmid, on prisoner's behalf, mentioned that ; prisoner was prepared to rebuild the : bridge, but was without money. i Mr. Hunter then intimated that he ! would provide the timber, and also food • for the prisoner. I Prisoner was then dealt with as stated i previously, and ordered to find a surety j that h8 would comply with the order. He was warned that if he did not erect the bridge promptly and efficiently, he would be arrested and dealt with.
