THE STRANDED FRANCE.

HOPE OF REFLOATING HER.

SALVAGE PARTY FROM BRISBANE. The large five-masted French barque Franco, which was stranded at New Caledonia, is apparently not so badly damaged as was first reported. Advice from Sydney states that a salvage party is to leave Brisbane shortly for the stranded vessel. The report also states that the France is on an even keel, cradled in a bed of coral, and if the weather remains calm no trouble us anticipated in refloating the vessel. Nop. 1 and 2 holds are lull of water, but no other serious damage appears to have been sustained.
