As a result of stabbing injuries, two men, George Monkhouso, a single man aged 68 years, and William Campbell, married, aged about 40, ■were admitted to the Coot. Hospital last night-. Campbell is manager of Mr.- F. Hall's station at Matawhero and Monkhouse "was. staying at the house while waiting for a job. . About nine o'clock on Saturday riight it was alleged Monkhouso returned home and after muttering for some time, sprang at Campbell and stabbed him three times in the back. He then turned the knife, which had a blade two and a-half inches long, into his own abdomen. Mrs. Campbell went to her husband's i aid and one child rushed ouitside s creami ing. A Chinese employee secured Monkhouse and sent for the police. Both men passed a satisfactory night in hospital.
