! ACCIDENTAL ESCAPE OF GAS. OLD LADY'S SAD END. A well-known and respected resident r of Auckland, Mrs, Margaret Odium, aged ; 74, was found dead in bed at her resii denco, Manukau Road, Epsom, yesterday morning. An inquest was held later in ' the day before the coroner, Mr. J. E. Wilson, S.M., when it was stated that r there was a disused gas jet in deceased's • bedroom which was very easily turned on. ( Yesterday morning th© tap was found partially turned, and' it was thought that this occurred as Mrs. Odium was hangj ing up some clothing before retiring on ■ the previous evening.
