FRUITFUL CONFERENCE. AGREEMENT FOR SIX STATES. TEMPORARY WAGE SCALE. By Telesraoh—Frees Association—Copyright. A. and N.Z. NEW YORK. Aug. 15. A message from Cleveland, where the coalmine owners and the miners have been in conference, states that the delegates representing the rival parties in Illinois, Western Pennsylvania, Ohio, CentraJ Michigan, Kansas, and West Virginia, have announced an agreement on a temporary wage scale under'which the men will return to work. The agreement will be presented to both sides to-day for ratification, and if this be secured 75.000 miners will return to work immediately. Mr. H. C. Hoover, Secretary for Commerce, has announced that immediate Congressional legislation is necessary regarding the imports of British coal in ! order to ensure equitable distribution. j
