ACTION FOR DAMAGES.
HEALTH OF A SHARE-MILKER. ALLEGED UNSUITABLE HOUSE An action for damages was commenced tn the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon before Mr. Justice Herdman, and a jury, by John Drent (Mr. McGregor), of Turua, share-milker, against Sydney Percival Crawford and George James Crawford, Turua (Mr. Prendergast), the claim being for £500 general damages, £50 special damages, and £50 expenses. The claim was based on an allegation by plaintiff that defendants neglected to provide him and his family with suitable accommodation, and he was compelled to occupy a cottage which was not fit to live in. By reason of this negligence, plaintiff alleged, he contracted pernicious anaemia, and his health had been permanently impaired. Drs. Craig and Dempster gave evidence as to the cause, and symptoms of pernicious anaemia. Plaintiff was in the witness box when the Court rose. The case will be continued this morning. '
