t » ! INQUIRY OPENS TO-DAY. 7 s THE QUESTION OF SALVAGE. The nautical inquiry into the loss of tho Wiltshire will be opened in the Magis. , trate's Court, Auckland, at 10.30 o'clock this morning. Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., will preside, with Captains E. C. Fleming \ and W. Reed as nautical assessors. \ Mr. G. C. Wright, the Australian representative of the London Association who x went to the Great Barrier to inspect the wreck of the Wiltshire, with Captain Plunkett, Lloyd's surveyor, and Mr. lb-. bertson, of Lloyd's local agents' office, returned to Auckland on Saturday. Owing to the heavy sea at Rosalie Bay the party were ' unable to visit the wr<ek by launch, so they made tho overland trip and inspected \ the wreck from the shore. The visit was ' made with a view to the salvaging of ttw . cargo, and on his return to Auckland Mr. » Wright cabled a report to his association' \ at London ajid is now awaiting a reply on the matter. : .. •
