Elizaleth Paul, who admitted low i. charges of receiving, was sent to goal for two months, t Chief-Detective Kemp told the Court ii that shoplifting had been very prevalent f in Wellington, especially during the last three months. In large shops it was & 3 comparatively easy matter to steal goods, as it was difficult to keep a close waVh. , 9 ~ssix. Hunt srid it was very probable there had been many more thefts than had been discovered.
