DIPLOMA FOUND ON PRISONER
.A diploma issued by a training school for burglars was found by the polks among the effects of Joseph Lauzon, & well-known " cracksman," who wae arrested at Washington recently. The institution, which ia situated at Los Angeles, names itself " The Wayne Strong School of Safe-work."
Its diploma certifies that " Mr. Joseph I.\uzon has been a student at this school of safe-work and that he has satisfactorily completed the subjects mentioned herein ts taught, by our safe experts. He is hereby awarded a diploma as an pcknowledgment of his proficiency and in recommendation of his accomplishments." The list of subjects referred to consists of " safe-opening, combination-setting, safe* repairing, and safe-lock work." Lauzon's last piece of work brought him in loot to the value of £40,000. Many of his former classmates of the safecracking school, he told the police, are reaping a golden harvest in New York and other large cities.
