MOTORISTS' INTERESTS.
DECISIONS OP ASSOCIATION. The General Comnrittee of the Auckland Automobile Association . met last, evening, the president, Mr. W. Coltman, in the chair. A suggestion was received from the Pukekohe Chamber of Commerce that if the Government did not undertake the solution of the Rangiriri hill trouble in a reasonable time the association shoold ask every car owner to donate £1 to a fund for the purpose. It was estimated that there were 10,000 cars in the Auckland district, 500 in Franklin and, Manukau, and 1000 in Hamilton, as well as other centres. If councils and local bodies assisted also, 'the Government would have considerable revenue to make a start with. It was decided to thank the chamber for its letter and to state that failing satisfactory legislation this session the suggestion wousld be adopted. Twenty-five new members were elected, making the total membership about 900. The balance sheet of the Heiensville branch of the association showed a credit balance of £23.
