NUMBER OF MINOR CASES.
RESISTING A CONSTABLE. A number of minor cases were dealt with by Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday. Seven days' hard labour was imposed on Thomas Tucker, aged 37, for having resisted a constable in the execution of his duty. It was stated that when accused was arrested for drunkenness ha struggled violently and the constable had to obtain assistance to put accused into James Knight was fined £2 for having been disorderly while drunk in Karangahape Road. It was stated he was dancing, singing and interfering with women. A fine of £1 was imposed on Michael Decaney, aged 30, for throwing a bottle on the footpath in. Symonds Street. It was stated that when arrested for drunkenness accused pulled a bottle of beer from his pocket and threw it on to the footpath. He also attempted to throw another bottle. For having failed to deliver up a nfle to the Defence Department Cecil -James Pye was fined £2. The rifle had been returned on Tuesday in a very dirty conditionr ' . A young woman, Rita Martm, was remanded till Mondayf on a charge- of the theft of £2 from the person at EHerslie on June 7. She was convicted on a i charge of drunkenness. ~
