Tuesday, Mr. Justice Herdman, on the occasion of his first visit as a Judge to Hamilton, yras welcomed at the opening of the - * TSupreme Court to-day by a full Bench of members of the Hamilton Law Society. ". Mr. C. L. Macdiarmid, president of the . society, extended a hearty welcome to the' Judge, and assured him of the members'* desire to assist him in every -way. Th« ; speaker referred to the growth of Court t work in Hamilton- This extensive " amount of work was not due to the 'litigious nature of the populace of the Wai-' kato, but was due in a very large measnra to the great rise and rapid advance to prosperity of the district, which was al*° a very large and extensive one.
