DELAYS TO SHIPPING. GALE AND RAIN IN CITY. ROUGH SEA IN HARBOUR, Stormy weather has been experienced in the Tasman Sea and off the New Zealand coast since Wednesday. It is reported to be very severe, and is delaying shipping. The Colonial Sugar Company's I steamer Rona, en route from Newcastle to Auckland; has been delayed over 30 hours by the gale. Sho first reported that she would reach Auckland on Thursday evening, and then reported later that she was experiencing a severe easterly gale, and would not reach Auckland until !} p.m. yesterday. She is beinc; further delayed, as she was not reported off Tiri at a late hour. A fresh easterly gale was blowing in Auckland yesterday, accompanied by heavy rain. There was a rough sea in tho harbour, which was covered with white foam. The smaller vessels to the eastward had considerable difficulty in making headway, but tho ferry steamers were able to keep to their timetable. The only accident reported to the harbour authorities was that the yacht Katie broke away from her moorings off PonBonby. Sho was picked up by the Harbour Board's launch and moored in % safe place.
