MOTHERS' DAY.

OBSERVANCES AT CHURCHES. "Mothers' Day," which falls on the second Sunday in May, was observed at several of the Auckland Churches yesterday, and the white flower, Che emblem of the occasion, was largely in evidence. A special meeting for men was held at the Y.M.C.A. in the afternoon. There was a large attendance, each man wearing a white flower in honour or in memory of his mother. Addresses w*re delivered by fhe Rev. J. Lamb Harvey, spoke on "The Mother's Sphere," and by Mr. F. whose subject was "The Influence of the Mother." This is the second occasion on which "Mothers' Day" has been observed, the movement being b? English origin.
