MR. MASSEY'S DECISION.
WORK IN THE DOMINION.
PREPARING FOR THE SESSION
[BY TELEGEJiPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Monday. The Prime Minister said to-day thai on account oi' many matters of great importance waiting to bo dealt with in New Zealand at present ho had very reluctantly been compelled to postpone his intended visit to Samoa. "I had looked forward to meeting the Samoan people of both races at the principal centres of population," ho said, "and discussing -with them various questions which urgently require attention as well as clearing up any misunderstandings which may exist; but I feel, and my colleagues agree with irie, that for the present mv duty in this respect is dear. The rhort recess on this occasion has made the position more difficult than woukl otherwise have been the case. Parliament will meet .-.gain within a very few weeks, and the business for the fission must be prepare! I need hardly say, however, that I will l;ike the first suitable opportunity of visiting Samoa, including as many as possible inlands, for the government of which New Zealand is responsible."
