ENJOYABLE "AT HOME." BISHOPSCOURT FUNCTION. The "At Home" given at Bishopscourt on Saturday afternoon by the Bishop and Mrs. Averill in connection with the Anglican General Synod was a successful and enjoyable function. The guests, numbering about 150, were received by Bißhop and Mrs. Averill, and a pleasant afternoon was spent in social intercourse and enjoyment of the delightful grounds of Bishopscourt. Afternoon tea "ivas served to the guests by pupib of the Queen Victoria School for Maori Girls. An excellent musical programme was rendered by Adams' orchestra.. Tho pulpits in the Anglican city and suburban churches yesterday were for the most part occupied by visiting members of the General Synod. The Primate, Bishop Julius, preached at St. Mary's Cathedra!, Pairnelh in the morning. The Bishop of Nelson was the preacher at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the morning and at St. Mary's Cathedral in the evening. The Bishop of Dunedin was at St. Mark's in the morning, the Bishop of Wellington at St. Barnabas', Mount Eden, and the Bishop of Waiapu at St. Paul's. Tho Bishop of Melanesia preached at St. Matthew's in the morning, and at All Saints', Ponsonby, in the evening. Ther.j were large congregations at the various services.
