The Hon. G, Fowlds was a passengei by last evening's outward express.
Mr, A. Spencer, president of the Auckland Provincial Employers' Association, left for Wellington last evening. Mr. A. D. Ford, Mayor of Riccarton, and Mrs. Ford., who have been spending a short holiday in Auckland, left by last evening's express for Wellington. M>. W. J. Munro has been appointed chief clerk and receiver of land revenue at- the Christchurch Lands Office, in succession i>~> the late Mr. R. Leckio. Mr. Munro was tor several years attached to tho staff of the Auckland Land Board, and since leaving this city has been stationed at New Plymouth and Napier.
