BURGLAR IN A CHURCH.
CHARGES AGAINST YOUTH.

At the Magistrate's Cert to-day, Mervyn John Cudby, a youth, was charged with breaking and entering the shop of W. H. Tisdall, in Lambton Quay, and stealing revolvers and ammunition, breaking and entering St. Mark's Churrh with intent to commit a crime, ftnd breaking and entering other premises with similar intent.
" There are two certainties in lifedeath and fingerprints," said ChiefDetective Kemp in stating that the charge was based upon the testimony of a fingerprint expert. forcible entry was made into the church. 'ITie ieadlights were removed and a safe blown open. The choir surplices were used to deaden the sound, Nothing was stolen except the keys. Considerable damage was caused. On various .articles finger-prints were discovered which Mr. Dinme swore were those of the accused.
The accused denied his guilt and was committed for trial.
