THE RECREATION GROUND. [BY TELECIUPH.-OWX CORRESPONDENT.] BOMBAY, Wednesday. The excavation and levelling up of the local recreation ground is nearing completion. A couple of years ago five acres of land, costing £500, were purchased with the idea of establishing a war memorial. About £1000 'has been raised by donations and special efforts, and a great amount of voluntary effort has been forthcoming. It is expected to have facilities for football and tennis, and other sports. The approaching winter season promises to supply ample evening enjoyment for residents." A splendidly equipped library is available, to which a new selection of books is being added tins week. The Church of England inaugurated its winter socials, with a very successful dance and musical programme. The Methodist 'Church members are about to corr.raence building a parsonage by voluntary labour. Sufficient funds have been subscribed in the district to meet the cost, allowing the usual subsidy from genera! trust funds. A further indication of progress is observed in the decision of the local Presbvterian Church Committee to erect a vestry at the church on the Main South Road. . , In common with other parts of the province. Rornbav is experiencing a nhenome'ial season as far as the growth of grass is concerned.
