AUSTRALIAN SEAMEN.
— ♦ ATTACK ON MR. HUGHES. THREAT OF DIRECT ACTION. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 630 p.m.) MELBOURNE, March 21. The Seamen's Union issued a manifesto stating that as there has been a conspiracy between Mr W. M. Hughes and the Commonwealth Government to prejudice the claims of Beamen in the Courts, and as the union has failed to secure its demands by constitutional means owing to unscrupulous methods employed by those referred to, the union will adopt such methods as it thinks fit to secure justice for its members.
