THE SEAMEN'S DISPUTE.
EMPLOYEES IN THEATRES. The industrial dispute filed by the Northern Steamship Company and others against the Auckland Seamen's Union and the' Federated Seamen's Union of New Zealand came before a conciliation council sitting yesterday The concihation commissioner, Mr. T. Harle Gfo, presided. The assessors tejoecom panies are Captain Hammond and Messrs. 1). Carter and T. R. Anderson and for the union Messrs. W. Clarke, W. T. Young, and T. F. Anderson An adjournment was made until April 4. Favourable progress toward settlement of the dispute in connection, with the front of the house employees in theatres was made By a conciliation counci the commissioner presiding. An adjournment was made until April 7. One or two clauses remain for members of toe union to be consulted upon, and it » expected that a full settlement will be reached when the council resumes.
