AUCKLAND WOOL SALE.

9pp • ■ llPgood PRICES realised. ppvf JJSE ON SOUTHERN BATES. 1 | FEBRUARY VALUES REALISED. ipjje third and final wool sale in Auckr Igcd for the 1921-22 season was held yes- f ( terday at the Town Hall concert chamber, j, when* a catalogue of 12,095 bales vraa t offered. There was a full attendance of g buyers representing Bradford, the Con- j tinent, America, local mills, and scourers, f In view cf the slight drop in prices re- j ported from other centres considerable c interest ins manifested in yesterday's s fixture. Usually at the third sale of the \ geason a considerable quantity of back ■, country wool and miscellaneous lots are s offered and prices on the average aro fro- s quentiy lower than those realised at the \ earlier sales. Competition was somewhat c erratic yesterday and compared with the f previous sale prices were irregular. ' For well-grown hogget wool there was ' a decided improvement on last sale, the 1 increase in cases being Id per lb. In j contrast, the price for Super grade Romnev was from Jd to Id per lb. lower. ' Medium said coarse crossbred, which constitutes the bulk of any catalogue offered . at Auckland, maintained the values ' established at the last sale and well- . grown Lincoln was Id per lb, dearer. ; Lambs' wool in some instances was sold at prices equal to those of last sale, but there was an easing tendency in this class of wool and some lots were sold at Id per lb. lower than last sale's rates. Super grade bellies and pieces were firm | at prices equal to those of last sale, but ] 0 w grade and seedy wool of this class was not- in demand, and some of the in- 1 ferior lots offered id not elicit a single bidLess Seedy Wool Than Usual. The wool offered was just abcmt average quality, there being less seedy in evidence than usually is the case at the final 6ale for tie season. In a number of dips, however, improvement could have been effected by more careful skirting. Some good wools, in fact, were not skirted at all and prices for these lines suffered in consequence. Oi the 12,095 bales offered about 85 per cent, was sold. The quantities offered by tne different firms were as follow: — D»lget7 and Co., North Auckland •• • • • * • < •• 4|320 Abraham and Williams 2,890 Alfred Buckland and Sone .. .. These prices were from Id to lid in advance of those at the February sale for a similar grade. Thajy are also from Id to in advance of the prices obtained for halfbred super at the Napier sale last week. Fine crossbred super brought from lid to 13d, showing' a slight improvement on the rates for similar wool at the last Auckland sale. Compared with the Napier sale yesterday's prices show an advance of from 2*d to 3}d. Other grades of crossbred showed an increase compared with Napier prices of Id to lid per lb. Some Leading Prices.
