Lady White, widow of Sir Edward White, late chairman of the London County Council, was the victim of a murderous attaik at a West End hotel. The chambermaid, on entering Lady Wffite's, room to awake her in the morning, found her insensible with a fractured skull. It is not expected that she will recover.

The police bo far have been unable to traoe the miscreant.
