The price of butter produced by the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy "Association has been reduced from t' uo 'be ginning of this week by Id a lb. The retail price of the company's first-gradi butter is now Is 4d a lb., ar ,d other brands of the same company's product have been reduced in proportion. The price fixed by the Auckland section of the Dominion Butter Committee for first, grade butter remains unaltered at Is 3d a lb., wholesale, ana Is 5d retail. Referring to butter prices yesterday Mr. Hugh C. Aickin, a member of the Butter Committee, said the reduction in price made by the New Zealand Co-opera-tive Dairy Company came as a surprise. Other companies were still selling at the price fixed by the committee. He added that a meeting of the committee would be held during the week to consider the matter, when all the companies interested would be represented.
