THAMES JOCKEY CLUB. W£T DAY AT PARAWAI. PSINOE CARL WINS THE CUP. [BS TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] THAMES, Saturday. The annual meeting of the Thames Jockey Club opened at Parawai to-day. The weather was ahowory when tacins commenced, and just before the Cup a steady downpour set in, making the course fairly heavy, Notwithstanding the inclement weather there wan a good attendance of visitors from Auckland and Waikato. Tho fields in most ol the events were Jarge and provided excellent coniests. An acoident occurred during the running of the Trial Handicap, Amans Queen, Delysian and Irene Bruce falling about two furlongi from the start. Maskery. the rider o| Delysian. and Tricklebank. on Irene Bruce, sustained severe concussion, but Beai, the nder of Amans Queen, escaped with a shaking. In the run to the post Jolly Gay weakened and King Neva, finishing well, won by a head, with Rosullus a neck away, third. Time lm 19s. Entering the final stage Night Time was still in front, ana looked like winning comfortably. From the distance Princo Carl came with a fine run, and. finishing very straight under pressure, got up to win by a short neck from Night Time, Some Fashion being two lengths away in front of a bunched field. Down the back stretch the last time Capsal raced up to Toddy, and the pair entered the straight together, They took the last fence in oompany, and a good finish saw Capsal win by a short neolc, Tenacious wag 12 lengths away, third.
